PowerWave™ Microplate Spectrophotometer
Features
- No Interference Filters Required
Monochromator optical design for continuous wavelength selection from 200 nm to 999 nm (or 340 nm to 999 nm, depending on model). Wavelengths can be selected in 1 nm increments to meet all assay requirements. It is like having 800 filters built in. If the best conditions are not known, any well can be spectrally scanned for a portion of the spectrum or across the entire wavelength range.
- Mutiple Microplate Types
Any standard microplate from 6- to 384-wells can be accommodated (depending on model). This includes 60-, 72- and 96-well Terasaki plates. In addition, the PowerWave can also read up to 8 of BioTek’s patented Bio-Cell™ quartz vessels for fixed 1 cm measurements.
- Choice of Reading Speeds
PowerWave microplate spectrophotometers offer speed options based on the user's requirements. Normal Mode incorporates Bio-Tek’s enhanced reading capabilities for the best performance, even with high optical density solutions. Rapid Mode, ensures fast reading at typical optical densities with excellent performance of the result. If faster throughput is required, the PowerWave's Sweep Mode meets the challenge. Using “on the fly” technology, an entire 96-well plate can be read as few as 5 seconds, depending on model.
- Temperature Control and Microplate Shaking
BioTek’s 4-Zone™ temperature control is a standard feature with the PowerWave. PowerWave readers use a natural convection system rather than a forced hot air system. This reduces evaporation in the microplate across its broad temperature range of 4° above ambient to 50°C. In the reading chamber, the microplate is completely surrounded by four independently controlled heaters ensuring low variation across the microplate. Users select from four shaking intensities and can define shake time for controlled agitation.
- Robotics Compatible
The PowerWave's small footprint makes it ideal for robotic systems. The carrier is designed for easy robot gripper access. PowerWave readers are compatible with both BioTek’s Bio-Stack™ Microplate Stacker and Bio-Stack™ Twister® II Microplate Handler, and can be integrated into many automated systems.
- Gen5 or KCjunior™ Software Included (depending on model).
